Sara Herrera works at IBEC Inc. as an EHS Consultant, where she collaborates with clients, guiding them through the intricate process of obtaining R2 Certification. Her role is multifaceted – she schedules third-party auditors to ensure timely client audits, and meticulously maintains accurate client data in the CRM system, among other things. This position is not just a job for Sara, it’s a passion fueled by her own past experiences.

Sara’s connection to her clients is unique and deeply personal. For over a decade, she worked at an electronics recycling company in the Bay Area, where she was responsible for achieving and maintaining R2 Certification, along with various ISO certifications. “I was on the other side of the fence,” Sara says, reflecting on her previous role. This firsthand experience grants her an unparalleled understanding of her clients' challenges and triumphs as they navigate the path to R2 Certification. Her expertise and empathy make her an invaluable asset to her clients, alleviating their concerns and simplifying what often seems like a daunting journey.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sara is a person of diverse passions and talents. An accomplished musician, she has been playing the violin since she was ten years old.  Sara has a deep love for classical music. Her life, however, is not confined to music alone. Sara is an avid traveler, driven by an insatiable curiosity and a love for new experiences. In recent years, she has explored the United States extensively, and then ventured abroad to Colombia, Morocco, and Spain.

“Travel is baked in me,” Sara explains, attributing her love of travel to her Mother, a former Peace Corps volunteer. Her Mother initially went to Honduras for a two-year assignment, but ended up staying for fifteen years. Sara was born in Honduras, and moved to the United States when she was ten. Despite relocating, she has maintained a strong connection to her birthplace through frequent visits.

Sara's journey – from her childhood in Honduras, through her professional evolution in the Bay Area, to her current role at IBEC Inc. – is a testament to her passion, resilience, and dedication. Whether she’s facilitating clients’ certification processes, playing her violin, or exploring new corners of the globe, Sara approaches every aspect of her life with enthusiasm and a deep-seated commitment to excellence.
