IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) is a salient matter for modern-day environmental concerns, it is also big business. So, it is only fitting for industry leaders to meet, exchange best practices, learn from one another. Enter the ITAD Summit, a well-established collaborative forum bringing together global leaders in the IT Asset Disposition industry.
IBEC once again sponsored this year’s ITAD Summit, given the tremendous strategic importance it presents for the industry.
The 2024 ITAD Summit was held at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, on July 23-24. According to the organizers of the ITAD Summit, this was the most well-attended summit to date. It brought together over 1,500 experts from all over the world.
Among many issues, the ITAD Summit addressed issues relevant to the circular economy, emergent technologies that will have an impact on the industry, trends in reverse logistics, value of strategic partnerships, evolving customer needs, as well as predictions on what the future will be like, and what trends are underway.
Educational sessions were very well-attended. They focused on the role of OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) in ITAD, trends in data management, ESG and the ITAD industry, capitalizing on the carbon benefits of refurbishing and resale, among other things. IBEC’s Founder and President Bardia Vahidi spoke on a panel on recycling of solar panels in a session titled “Unlocking the Future: Embracing the Opportunities in Solar Panel Recycling.“
At IBEC, we always think of the client experience. So, it’s only appropriate that we compliment the organizers of the ITAD Summit 2024 for an exceptionally well-organized event. From the choice of the venue to the setup, attending the ITAD Summit was a very successful experience, it was built to human scale, and greatly facilitated event flow and interactions among attendees.
Ultimately, it’s the value of meeting people face-to-face that makes a world of difference at major conferences. And the ITAD Summit delivered in spades on that front as well. We met with many clients and friends, and made many new connections as well. Making that human connection is priceless, and that too is one of the highlights of attending this year’s ITAD Summit.
