IBEC Announces New Partners in Fight Against Global E-Waste Crisis

Disturbing trend contributing to global climate change calls for Responsible Recycling (R2) and systemic reforms

The dark side of the multitude of technological innovations in our society is a major uptick in e-waste. IBEC Inc. (IBEC), a leading management systems consulting firm, announced that it is combatting this through the strict upholding of voluntary industry standards with its client partners.

IBEC’s announcement comes not a moment too soon — in fact, the World Economic Forum reports that e-waste has increased by 21% in just five years, and expected to double on top of that by 2030.

“We are disheartened by the new figures around improper disposal of e-waste,” said Bardia Vahidi Ph.D., IBEC President and CEO. “However, we are proud to be part of the solution by offering services to clients who want to recycle responsibly with the R2, R2v3 or RIOS certifications — in fact, we have several which have recently joined the eco-conscious ranks”

As such, IBEC would like to recognize the client partners who have joined it in the fight against the global e-waste crisis through Responsible Recycling (R2) certification: R.A.K.I Computers, ITEC Inc, Big Data Supply Inc, TNR GROUP INC, ALTR-B Recycling, Inc., KT Corp., Dotson IT Asset Management Corp, Compucycle and Maywei.

Some companies may mistakenly think that getting their facilities certified isn’t possible due to COVID, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Environmental consultants and auditors are conducting both virtual and safely-conducted on-site inspections during this difficult time.

While it’s exceptional that these companies are doing their part voluntarily, it’s not enough. Individual action is also important, but also not enough. Government- enforced regulations are truly necessary to ensure all companies with e-waste dispose of it in a responsible manner.
