Jen Latak has in-depth expertise in mobile devices.  She is a dynamic force in the mobile devices industry, with nearly three decades of experience that spans sales management, operations, and responsible recycling.  As a key leader at Blackbelt 360, a company dedicated to providing data wipe and diagnostic software, Jen drives innovation and champions the importance of sustainability in the tech sector.

Jen began her career in wireless in 1996, initially stepping into a management role at a kiosk for MCI inside a Sam's Club.  Her passion for technology and sales propelled her through various positions, leading to her current role at Blackbelt 360, where she has been for nearly eight years.  With a diverse background that includes working with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and trade-in programs, Jen has comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the industry's intricacies.

Delving into industry issues, Jen highlights a significant trend in the industry, which is the push for standardized processes in device recycling.  With the introduction of R2V3 certification, companies are increasingly taking accountability for their recycling practices, and Jen sees the difference that this is making.  Jen noted, "There's a growing vigilance and accountability in how organizations run their recycling operations.  Companies are moving away from ad-hoc methods to more structured and validated processes.  The era of keep track of your recycling efforts on an Excel spreadsheet is coming to an end.  There is far more accountability now.”

Jen gets excited speaking about leading people and her own management style.  Jen embodies a leadership style that emphasizes leading by example.  She believes that effective leaders should be self-motivated and proactive, stating, "I always take initiative in finding ways to do my job to the best of my ability without needing handholding."  Her approach fosters a collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to take ownership of their roles.  Jen values teamwork and collective success.  She has a knack for rolling up her sleeves and working alongside her colleagues, ensuring that productivity and morale remain high.  "I would never expect my team to do something I wouldn’t do myself," she emphasizes, reflecting her commitment to integrity and shared effort.

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Jen is a devoted family person.  A mother of three sons, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family.  One of her passions is playing pickleball, a popular sport she enjoys with friends and family. "We’re always playing pickleball or going out to dinner," she shares, speaking of her favorite social activities.  "Every second of every day is precious," she remarks, emphasizing the importance of living intentionally.
